Turned 26 yesterday

Birthdays are always exciting to me, especially when it comes to others more than mine. I try to make my friends/relatives at least a bunch of happiness on my behalf. My mom sumtimes ridicules me for spending a lot on cards and gifts. She wud say all the 365 days u wud have someone to go on wishing. I am passionate about birthday cards. Sometimes I try sketching something n presenting my friends. My birthday has been eventful sometimes and just like any other day some other times. Eventful times were those times in college and NIIT. I have a treasure bag of greeting cards from friends/relatives which i visit on every birthday. This time am not in my country for my birthday. So I got wishes from my parents and my brother had sent me a cute e-card. And few e mail wishes from my friends. Of course, as we grow up, our importance gradually reduces. Not to miss out tat my husband got me a cute earring. I had a small guilty feeling tat I missed doing sumthing for not so well of people this time which I hope to do when I go to India. More than the new year, there was more energy on my birthday pushing me to do new things.
Yesterday, I went to a temple with family, had simple lunch with a paal payasam, went on browsing for sometime, chatted with my brother, went for a walk in the evening recollecting all the good and bad events of previous year, watched a stupid movie kushi for nth time as i had no other choice. When I went to sleep, I had lot of action items or short term goals to do for the near future which kept me awake for quiet sometime. And hoping all goes well in the coming year.

Neeya Naana

'Neeya Naana' is a wonderful thought provoking talk show in Vijay TV. There are 2 sets of people and they voice their different views on society and family centric topics. Its a very interactive show where both the sides get to express their thoughts to the fullest. I think the heart of the show is the anchor Gopinath. I have heard he is highly qualified, his greatest strengths are spontaneity and humor which makes the show very appealing. He helps and motivate people to break the ice and talk freely. One good thing about the show is anchor or the crew does not make it melodramatic unlike other shows.

Some topics were nuclear/joint family, IT/Non IT people, Love/Arranged marriage, belief in astrology, teachers Vs students and so on.. Yesterday's topic was really cute and touching. I don know it impressed me a lot because I love kids or am a mother myself. Topic was 'who contributes more to parenting', mother / father?. Every show there are interesting segments.One of the segments in yest's show was he asked the parents to recollect some great moments about their kids. And many came up with interesting things, kid's first smile, first walk, first word etc.. I wished I was also in the show to tell my sweet experiences with my kid. He is just 1 yr old. But so many things are evergreen in my mind. So I am writing this post so tat I can look back to these if i forget those moments also..

As the baby enters the world, her first instinct is cry loudly and to wait eagerly for her mother's milk. And any mother feels heavenly to feed the baby. That's a remarkable wonder ever. So that was a great and complete feeling for me too. Then my son started smiling on exactly the 50th day. My 15 yr old brother is a photography freak, so right from my son's birth, he had been clicking so much. My kid also did a lot of cycling like other kids while lying down.. Sometime very slow.. n sometimes rapid.. Later we waited for him to turn. that was a very nice moment. He tried hard every time, but wud fall flat again. Finally we placed his favorite toy behind him. So he got more excited n turned and it was all captured in video. We were all excited n clapped. He smiled at everyone recognizing every ones face. One more thing I love about my kid is he loves music like his mom. So right from birth I sing a lot to put him to sleep. Not only me, my mom and dad also did. After few months. from 4th month, whenever I switch off the light he wud start humming 'aaahha',aahhaaa' in different tunes. I was thrilled n called my parents n bro n made them hear it. They were also thrilled. Latest improvement, he puts thalam for whatever I sing and some classical music in TV. Whatever music, be it ads, serial songs, cine songs he wud run and watch without blinking his eyes. When I tried to teach him how to kiss, he does not get the sound. so he says, 'ummmmmahhh' and gives a flying kiss.

Parenthood is a bliss and am enjoying every moment of it.

Happy new year 2009

I am a little late writing this post, It took me some time to realize 2008 has gone n 2009 s born.I was feeling nostalgic abt my home, city after year end vacation and not willing to come out of the feeling.Finally came out of it with a lot of struggle. Every new year brings in a lot of excitement and hopes to do something better than the previous year. Some belive in taking resolutions. But it has never worked out for me. New year does not make the resolution stronger if it is not already strong.
So I decide to do certain things and feel happy if it gets fulfilled.
* This year also is important for me as am going to try my luck in the poor IT market and step into a new career. Also I hope certain percentage of my singing dreams come true, rather I ll try to make it come true.
* I envy at people who rise early in the morning. Even though I manage to wake up around 6, that happiness/briskness is missing while waking up and I hope to bring it hereafter.
* I hate gossip mongers. Unfortunately women are branded for gossips more than men. I feel its a disease and any human would catch it. I really hope people don't gossip and discourage gossips as much as possible. Let good things alone be spread around the globe.
* I wish and pray for peace in every part of our country and productive things to happen this year.
* I also hope to actively blog as much as possible. I have to give rest to reading mode n do more of writing, possibly useful/informative writing. Implementing some new ideas in blogs is going to be another goal.
I wish this year to be a fruitful and a joyful one for me and everybody in the world.

Its not valentines day.. Yet every day in life should be filled with lots of love, some amount atleast..
